IMPORTANT – WATER PUMP TYPE:

Mitsubishi used two different styles of water pump on the 2.5 TD 4D56 engine.

The design typically changed around 1992 with the change from Mk1 to Mk2 Pajero / Shogun.

This GWM-52A is the later type where the thermostat is fitted in a separate thermostat housing.

Earlier Mk1 Pajero / Shogun models use a different style of water pump where the thermostat fits directly into the water pump assembly.
